Our organic Ylang Ylang 1st is obtained from the second distillate of the process of obtaining the oil from the flowers, and has a slightly less sweet aroma which many find more pleasing than the Extra oil.

Description: Ylang ylang is a tall tropical tree about 20 meters high with large, tender, fragrant pink, mauve or yellow flowers. The yellow heads are considered the best in terms of quality for the purpose of producing an essential oil.
Scent description: Intensely sweet, soft, exotic floral-balsamic aroma

AROMATHERAPY USES:
Ylang Ylang is a soothing, erotic and euphoric essential oil that is soothing for the mind, body and skin. Used extensively in the perfume industry for its exotic fragrance. It possesses sedative, antidepressant, euphoric and aphrodisiac properties. Ylang Ylang controls the production of sebum - the skin's natural oil -  and in general has a balancing and regulating effect on most body functions. It has a tonic effect on the nervous and circulatory systems, and can help to reduce palpitations, rapid breathing and high blood pressure.
Skin: Ylang Ylang balances and stimulates the skin, and is beneficial for oily skin, combination skin, irritated skin and acne. As a scalp tonic it can balance sebum production in both dry and greasy scalp, in addition to stimulating hair growth.
Mind: Ylang Ylang is helpful in alleviating depression, nervous tension, anxiety, stress-related insomnia, shock, fear and anger. Its erotic fragrance can also help those with sexual inhibitions, acting as a mild aphrodisiac.
Body: Ylang Ylang can assist with problems such as high blood pressure, rapid nervous conditions, sexual problems and rapid breathing and heartbeat.

Blends Well With: Bergamot and other fresh-smelling essential oils are recommended to help lighten the heavy fragrance.  Ylang ylang blends well with most florals such as lavender, jasmine, and rose, and also with citruses such as lemon and mandarin.

Cautions: Non-toxic, non-irritant, very occasional sensitisation. Use in moderation as high concentrations can cause headaches and nausea.
